This is a wickedly effective scam going on here in Thailand - in Udonthani in particular, but would work in many places really.

There are Thai on Thai scams. There are Thais scamming farangs (foreigners). There are foreigners scamming foreigners. Now, there are foreigners teaming up with Thais to scam Thai girls!

Tab Kak Hang Nak Nature Trail Hiking in Krabi is amazing at this mountain peak trail. Great view encompassing the Ao Nang and Noppharat Thara Beaches, Thalen Bay, Krabi, Krabi Town, all over the area.

Anyway - this is southern Thailand, on a good day. Sunshine and white clouds... blue skies.

This mountain is amazing - a great hike and simply awesome view from the top. There is a race up it annually if you can figure out when it is. The race is every year in March.

There are not many hikes in Krabi, this is the best. There is a walk up Wat Tum Sua steps (1,256 steps) and there are a couple walks on nature trails like over at Crystal Pool (Sra Morakot).

This 1.7 meter long mangrove snake died overnight and we put it in with the king cobras to see -will any of them eat it? The mangrove snake (a cat snake) was already kind of stiff. We were betting the cobras would leave it. Nope. This one was hungry. The king cobra eating it was almost 3 meters long.

Mangrove cat snake is Boiga dendrophila and the king cobra is Ophiophagus hannah.

I let the giant centipede go that I caught the night before in a Thailand jungle.

It's very fast and the stuff nightmares are made of.

In Hawaii I saw one that was another 3-4 inches bigger than this one night as I walked along the shore on Maui. It made this one look like a baby.

When you are bitten by a centipede it burns a lot. Some have called it the worst pain they ever felt. I think they've never felt a box jellyfish sting, or the sting from the barb of a stingray's tail - i've felt both and they are much more painful than a centipede bite. Or maybe the centipede didn't get me as good as he could have

Another installment in the Gross Grub Bizarre Foods Series. These are snails which came from the "river" apparently. Do snails go under the river water? What do they eat? Dead stuff? I think so.

Sitting in a riverside bar/restaurant and talking about what goes on in Cambodia.

Bigger than big. I've seen these things often as I climb this mountain, and never thought to try to grab one and put it in the snake bag. I grabbed one today. They are fierce, and nothing to play with. With something this big it's best not to play around. I got the hell out of its way when it went for my gohn (ass in Thai).
